President Serdar Berdimuhamedov Received Vice President of Turkey Cevdet Yılmaz

On June 4, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met in Ashgabat with Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, who arrived in the Turkmen capital at the head of a government delegation. These talks preceded the ninth meeting of the Turkmen-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, held in Ashgabat, which aims to coordinate ongoing bilateral partnership issues.

Cevdet Yılmaz conveyed warm greetings from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the head of state and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, emphasizing Ankara's particular importance to strengthening multifaceted dialogue with Ashgabat. In turn, Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the current visit of the Turkish delegation will give a powerful practical impetus to bilateral cooperation.

The parties discussed in depth the integration of advanced technologies and the latest scientific advances into key manufacturing sectors. This included the deep modernization of the industrial sector, where Turkish businesses traditionally possess strong competencies, and Turkmenistan serves as a major platform for industrial growth.

The interlocutors focused on the effectiveness of institutional mechanisms. It was noted that the Intergovernmental Commission, the joint Business Council, and regular specialized exhibitions should function as a unified system, promptly responding to the needs of businesses in both countries. It is through these platforms that they plan to coordinate initiatives in the energy sector, diversifying transport and logistics corridors, and increasing mutual trade turnover.

In addition to industry and the fuel and energy sector, Ashgabat and Ankara confirmed their intention to continue cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. Programs in education, applied science, technology, and cultural exchange will receive consistent support, as it is intellectual partnership that largely determines the long-term ties between the two countries.
