Serdar Berdimuhamedov Received Eric Stewart, Head of the Turkmen-American Business Council

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Eric Stewart, Executive Director of the Turkmen-American Business Council, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit. The meeting furthered the dialogue that began last year during the Turkmen leader's meeting with US President Donald Trump during his visit to the United States.

Eric Stewart confirmed the strong interest of American business circles in expanding their presence in the Turkmen market, noting the steady growth of the local economy. During the meeting, the parties analyzed the results of the Business Council meeting in Ashgabat, which opened new opportunities for direct contacts between the public and private sectors of the two countries.

Trade and economic cooperation traditionally remain the foundation of Turkmen-American relations, built on the principles of equality and mutual benefit. To date, the bilateral partnership has accumulated significant experience in collaborating with such US industrial giants as Boeing, General Electric, John Deere, Case, and Nicklaus. The head of state praised the work of the Business Council, which over the years has become an effective tool for supporting these ties and diversifying joint investment projects.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan systematically supports American business initiatives and is ready to consider specific, technologically sound proposals for the implementation of new joint projects.

On the eve of the meeting with the head of state, the working agenda of the American delegation's visit was thoroughly reviewed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Eric Stewart discussed practical steps within the Business Council, emphasizing its role as a key platform for interaction between the public sector and private businesses in the two countries.

The main practical outcome of the visit was a specialized roundtable discussion held in Ashgabat with representatives from approximately ten leading US corporations, including brands such as Climate Compass, John Deere, and Westport Trading. On the Turkmen side, the roundtable was chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyev. Participants confirmed their mutual interest in launching joint projects in the transport and logistics sector, oil and gas, energy, and agriculture. That same day, American delegates held a series of targeted B2B meetings at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, laying the groundwork for future commercial contracts.
