A Chinese private company has developed a new generation of perovskite solar cells achieving close to 28 percent efficiency under standard sunlight, setting a new world record.

The breakthrough marks the first time that perovskite technology has outperformed all single-junction silicon solar cells in laboratory conditions, highlighting its growing potential as a next-generation photovoltaic solution.
