Turkmen Company "Batly Gadam" Holds Talks with Primark and Signs MoU with Somerbond in London

As part of the UK–Turkmenistan B2B Trade Mission, organised in London from 11 to 15 May, the Turkmen textile company "Batly Gadam" held negotiations with Primark — one of the United Kingdom's largest retail brands and signed an MoU on cooperation with the British company Somerbond.

The delegation from Balkanabat visited Primark's offices, where it was familiarised with the chain's supplier requirements, quality standards, and logistical procedures. The signing of an MoU with Somerbond formalised arrangements for continued partnership and opened a further channel for the Turkmen manufacturer to enter the British market.

This is not the first international milestone for Batly Gadam: with support from TurkmenExpo at the QACIS forum, the company previously obtained textile certification for the European market, paving the way for direct negotiations with major retail chains.

The Turkmen textile producer's advancement to negotiations with Primark — one of the world's leading fast-fashion retailers, operating more than 400 stores globally, together with the signing of an MoU with Somerbond, reflects the growing export potential of Turkmenistan's private sector and the effectiveness of structured trade initiatives such as the UK–Turkmenistan B2B Exchange. The business mission is jointly organised by the West London Chambers of Commerce and TurkmenExpo, with institutional support from the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United Kingdom and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan
