Digital Education: Turkmenistan Presented New Technologies at a Forum in London

During the Education World Forum (EWF 2026) held in London, Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Azat Ataev performed as a key speaker at a specialized session. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

The Turkmen delegation presented to the international community the country’s fully developed digital architecture for schools and universities, which attracted significant interest and received high praise from foreign experts.

The Turkmen side emphasized that the true value of digitalization lies in creating a flexible education system. The main tools of this transformation are the national platforms e-mekdep, men talyp, and the unified information system EMIS.

These analytical tools make it possible to monitor attendance, academic performance, and student workload in real time. Based on the accumulated “digital footprint” of students, the system can create individualized learning pathways and provide objective career guidance recommendations, while fully preserving the decisive role of the family.

Special attention was paid to the unique digital KPI monitoring system for higher education introduced in Turkmenistan. The system evaluates the scientific and innovative activities of university departments and teachers using dozens of indicators, including patents, research income, and the international Hirsch Index.

Modern digital tools directly connect education with the labor market. The collected data are used to forecast workforce shortages, create a unified educational portfolio for citizens, and develop a national Atlas of Future Professions. International experts at the forum emphasized that Turkmenistan’s approach does not replace teachers, but rather strengthens their work and enables accurate management decisions based on real data.
