Oriented on making people closer

A youth delegation from the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan achieved notable success at the prestigious International Skills Forum Tajikistan – 2026, an international forum and vocational skills competition held in the Khatlon Region of Tajikistan. Over the course of four days, talented representatives of the construction, energy, and technical sectors demonstrated their practical skills alongside strong competitors from Central Asian countries, China, and Türkiye.

During the practical stage of the competition, participants faced challenging tasks designed to test their precision, speed, technical competence, and strict adherence to safety regulations. Over a period of four to six hours, the young specialists completed assignments in electrical engineering, plastering, electric and gas welding, and the maintenance and adjustment of alternative energy equipment. The quality of their work was evaluated by an independent panel of international experts according to standards comparable to those of the WorldSkills movement.

As a result of the competition, Nepes Rahmanberdiyev, a student of the Ashgabat Construction Secondary Vocational School under the Ministry of Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan, demonstrated outstanding craftsmanship and won an honorable second place. Another representative of the country, Ymamberdi Sohbetov, a trainee at the Ashgabat Energy Secondary Vocational School under the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, successfully secured a place among the forum’s top four young professionals despite intense competition.

In addition to the competition program, the Turkmen delegates participated in specialized discussions and visited the Nurek Hydroelectric Power Plant. The visit provided them with an opportunity to observe the scale and operation of a major energy facility firsthand. These impressive international results confirm that Turkmenistan’s vocational education and training system is successfully preparing competitive specialists capable of working according to the highest international standards.
