Oriented on making people closer

ASHGABAT, April 3 | ORIENT. Turkmenistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs conducted a high-intensity first quarter of 2026. Official report figures presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov at a government meeting on Friday demonstrate the capital's strengthening status as an important platform for Eurasian consultations.

In the first three months of the year, 158 foreign delegations visited the country, and 265 Turkmen missions were sent abroad. More than 500 official negotiations and meetings took place in Turkmenistan, and 30 new documents were added to the legal framework.

The main events of the quarter were the visits of the National Leader of the Turkmen People to the United States and China, as well as the visit to Ashgabat of the leaders of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA). Furthermore, a new point appeared on the map of diplomatic presence in the capital: the official opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq.
