Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Ding Xuexiang Reaffirmed the Strategic Nature of Their Cooperation
19.04.2026 | 00:44 |On April 16, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and First Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, who was visiting our country on behalf of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
During the meeting, Ding Xuexiang emphasized that China attaches great importance to its strategic partnership with Turkmenistan and conveyed warm greetings to the Turkmen leader on behalf of President Xi Jinping, TDH reports.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov returned the greetings to the Chinese President, noting that Turkmenistan highly appreciates the Chinese leadership's attention to all aspects of bilateral cooperation.
As emphasized, for many years, the Turkmen-Chinese dialogue has been built on the principles of trust, respect, and consideration of national interests. This solid foundation allows for the successful implementation of large-scale projects, strengthening the strategic partnership. The Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee and its subcommittees play a significant role in bilateral relations.
As noted, interstate relations cover a wide range of areas, including economics, culture, science, and education. The fuel and energy sector is a key vector of bilateral cooperation. Its strategic importance is clearly demonstrated by the fact that this year Turkmenistan and China are celebrating the twentieth anniversary of gas cooperation.
-We will launch the development of the fourth phase of the Galkynysh field in the Mary velayat. Success in this area is inextricably linked to active political dialogue at the highest level, - the head of state said, emphasizing his fond memories of his visit to China last year, as well as the recent friendly visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, to China.
The interlocutors also noted the successful cooperation between Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China at the UN, as clearly demonstrated by their mutual support for initiatives aimed at strengthening global peace and ensuring sustainable development.
In this regard, it was also emphasized that the "Central Asia-China" format and the "Belt and Road" initiative serve as platforms for closer, multifaceted regional cooperation.
Emphasizing that the further development of relations with the People's Republic of China is one of Turkmenistan's priorities, the head of state noted our country's commitment to further deepening and expanding fruitful cooperation.
