Turkmenistan will host an international competition of scientific projects on sustainable development
06.05.2026 | 15:10 |The Turkmen Agricultural University named after S. A. Niyazov invites students of higher education institutions from Turkmenistan and abroad to take part in the international competition “The Role of Youth in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals.” The event is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence and World Environment Day.
The competition will be held in two stages in Turkmen, Russian, and English. Participants (individually or in pairs) may submit their projects in the following six areas:
— Zero hunger;
— Clean water and sanitation;
— Affordable and clean energy;
— Climate action;
— Conservation of marine ecosystems;
— Protection of ecosystems of arid lands.
Deadlines and participation procedure
To take part in the first stage, applicants must submit their research work to the organizing committee’s email (science.tm2024@gmail.com) by May 10. The list of the best projects selected for the final round will be published on the university’s official website on May 20.
The second stage will be held online from June 1 to June 5. Finalists will present their projects before an expert panel. The jury will evaluate the works based on innovation, scientific originality, feasibility, and economic efficiency.
Winners will be awarded first-, second-, and third-degree diplomas, as well as commemorative gifts from the S. A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University. Detailed information on submission requirements can be found on the website tohu.edu.tm in the section “International Competition — 2026.”
