First-grade students in Turkmenistan will receive new laptops as a state gift
06.05.2026 | 15:55 |As part of implementing the national education policy, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, signed a decree on the procurement of personal computers for future first-grade students. According to the document, every child enrolling in school for the 2026–2027 academic year will receive a modern laptop. This initiative aims to foster a generation that is proficient in innovative technologies and possesses a broad outlook. The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan reported this.
The Ministry of Education has been authorized to conclude contracts with domestic electronics manufacturers — the joint enterprise “Agzybirlik tilsimaty” and the business entity “Aýdyň gijeler.” The agreements include not only the supply of the required number of devices but also their full installation in educational institutions across the country. All technical work and distribution of the computers must be completed by August 1, 2026.
Special attention in the decree is given to the durability of the equipment: the supplier companies are required to provide ongoing technical maintenance of the laptops. Such support ensures that students can effectively use digital tools throughout their education. This step not only supports families by providing necessary equipment but also stimulates the development of the national IT industry.
