ORIENT | Technology. American astronauts will head to the Moon on April 2 as part of the Artemis II mission. US President Donald Trump announced this on the social media platform TruthSocial: "For the first time in more than 50 years, America is returning to the Moon."

The mission is part of the deep space exploration program and is intended to deliver astronauts to Earth's natural satellite.

Earlier, on February 2, NASA conducted a dress rehearsal for the Orion launch at Cape Canaveral, Florida. As part of the preparations, the SLS launch vehicle was fueled with cryogenic propellant, all rocket and spacecraft systems were tested, and pre-launch procedures and subsequent fuel dumping were practiced.
