Oriented on making people closer

The Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas is entering a new stage of cooperation with leading universities in China. During a recent online meeting, the university’s leadership and representatives of Chinese partners discussed practical steps to establish a unique training center in Ashgabat—the “Lu Ban Workshop.” This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

The project is the result of a memorandum signed in October 2024 in the city of Xi’an. The partners include Xi’an Petroleum University, Hebei Petroleum University, and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). The main goal of the workshop is to train highly qualified specialists in line with the most modern standards.

The “Lu Ban Workshop” is a recognized international Chinese brand in vocational education. In Ashgabat, it will serve as a platform where students can gain hands-on experience with the latest industrial equipment and advanced technologies. This approach will enable future engineers to acquire skills that are in high demand in today’s industrial sector.

Specialists from Turkmenistan and China have carefully developed a plan for organizing the educational process. It was noted that the launch of the workshop will provide a strong boost to the development of national science and the oil and gas sector. Direct exchange of experience with Chinese colleagues will help introduce high technologies and innovations into the country’s energy industry.

The implementation of this large-scale project has become possible thanks to the support of the leadership of Turkmenistan. The creation of such centers opens new horizons for deeper integration of national education into the global scientific community and strengthens the country’s international standing.
