 Expanding energy dialogue: Turkmenistan was represented at the Kazan Forum “Energoprom-2026”

From April 1 to 3, 2026, the Kazan International Power Engineering Forum “Energoprom-2026” is being held in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation. The Turkmen delegation is headed by the Minister of Energy of Turkmenistan, Annageldi Saparov.

The event, taking place at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center, brings together government and public figures from the Russian Federation and other countries, energy ministers from CIS states, representatives of profile ministries and agencies, heads of major energy companies, and leading equipment manufacturers.

A specialized power engineering exhibition has been organized as part of the forum, where more than 100 companies are showcasing modern technological solutions, including gas turbines and new electrical engineering equipment.

Participants are focusing on the development of joint projects, exchange of experience and technologies, as well as the formation of a unified energy space, which contributes to strengthening the resilience of the sector and enhancing economic ties.

As is well known, Turkmenistan places special emphasis on modernizing and diversifying its national economy through the introduction of advanced technologies and cutting-edge scientific achievements. One of the key priorities of this policy is the development of effective cooperation with all interested foreign countries, international organizations, and leading global companies.

In accordance with the Concept for the Development of the Energy Sector of Turkmenistan, modern gas turbine power plants equipped with advanced equipment from world-renowned manufacturers, high-voltage transmission lines, distribution power plants, and substations have been constructed and commissioned across the country.

Within the framework of the forum, a regular meeting of the CIS Electric Power Council was held, during which issues related to the coordination of energy systems, development of the fuel and energy complex, digitalization, and improving the reliability of energy infrastructure were discussed.


On April 2, in Kazan, on the sidelines of the power engineering forum, a meeting took place between the Minister of Energy of Turkmenistan and the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Sergey Tsivilev.

The parties discussed prospects for the Turkmen-Russian energy dialogue, including opportunities for implementing joint projects in the modernization of energy infrastructure, improving the reliability of power systems, and introducing advanced technologies, including renewable energy.
