 Turkmen students won silver at Mathematics Competition in Saint Petersburg

Students from Turkmenistan demonstrated a high level of preparation on the prestigious international stage. At the 12th International Mathematics Competition NCUMC-2026, held in Saint Petersburg from April 26 to 28, representatives of Turkmen universities became prize winners, successfully competing with participants from leading European universities. This was reported by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

According to the results of the competition, students of the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev achieved notable success: Islam Hayytmuhammedov from the Faculty of Digital Technologies and Cybersecurity and Halmyrat Myratgeldiyev from the Faculty of Oil and Gas were awarded silver medals. These achievements became a worthy gift to the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence.

The competition, organized by ITMO University, brought together talented young people from Austria, the United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, Italy, France, and other countries. Turkmenistan was also represented by teams from leading specialized institutions, including economic, agricultural, energy, and engineering-technological institutes.

Success at the international level is the result of state policy in the field of education. The victories in Saint Petersburg demonstrate the growing potential of the country’s young scientists and the international recognition of their abilities.
